How do you feel about the way that Urlacher is currently being treated? Do you think the Bears will work something out with him or have we seen the last of Urlacher in a Bears uniform? This guy has done so much for the city of Chicago and the Bears organization and I think that his reasoning for wanting a new contract is pretty fair. The cap is much higher now then it was 5 years ago when he resigned then. They also have to restructure Tommie Harris contract and Devins Hester’s (who appears to be priority #1).

Here’s what I hate. Everyone is so anti-players. I’m not saying they don’t make far more than they are worth, but that’s the nature of the beast. If you don’t think they are worth so much, stop going to the games, buying merchandise, etc. that helps feed those contracts. If the teams weren’t making so much money they wouldn’t be able to pay these players.
How come anytime someone asks to have their deal redone fans throw a stink, but when the teams ask a player to restructure their contract there is no public outcry? If the contracts were hard contracts the teams wouldn’t be able to just cut players at will. They would be asked to live up to their side of the contract. If the owners don’t have to live up to their side of the contract, why do you insist the players do?
You gripe about the millions of dollars the players make, but nobody ever gripes about the ridiculous amount of money the owners are brining in.
Why pile on the millionaires and simply ignore the billionaires?
